Do You Qualify?
Eligibility for Microsoft’s nonprofit program in Canada comes down to two requirements. Your organisation must hold an active CRA registered charity number — incorporation as a nonprofit corporation alone is not sufficient. And your organisation must not be a healthcare entity, government body, school, college, or university.

Common Exclusions
Canadian Hospitals
The healthcare carve-out in Microsoft’s policy applies to US federal designations only.
Family & Ontario Health Teams
Ineligible on multiple grounds under Microsoft’s nonprofit program criteria.
Hospital Foundations
Excluded under the healthcare rule — even those with active CRA charity registration.
NPOs Without CRA Registration
Organisations incorporated under ONCA or CNCA without a CRA charity number do not qualify.
IT Services Tailored to Nonprofit Needs
Managing a nonprofit’s technology requires balancing tight budgets with real security and compliance obligations. FSET provides the full range of managed IT services — scoped and priced for mission-driven organisations.
Strategic IT Planning
We work with nonprofit leadership to align technology decisions with organisational goals — identifying where investment will have the most impact and where cost can be reduced without compromising operations or security.
Cybersecurity and ISO 27001:2022
Nonprofits handle sensitive donor data, financial records, and personal information. FSET is ISO 27001:2022 certified — the international standard for information security management. We implement the controls, policies, and monitoring your organisation needs to protect that data and demonstrate compliance under PIPEDA and provincial privacy legislation.
Microsoft 365 Licensing
From eligibility assessment through licence provisioning, configuration, and ongoing management — FSET manages the full Microsoft 365 lifecycle for nonprofit clients at nonprofit pricing through our Microsoft CSP relationship.
Disaster Recovery
We put systems in place to minimise downtime and protect critical data. For nonprofits, an extended outage can directly impact service delivery to the communities you serve — a risk that deserves serious mitigation.
Device Management and Remote Support
Intune-based device management, remote support, and endpoint protection for staff working across multiple locations — common for nonprofits operating across rural and remote communities in Northern Ontario.
