FSET helps organizations meet the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements with effective digital solutions that ensure inclusivity and legal compliance.

What is AODA Compliance?

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) is a law designed to make Ontario fully accessible by the end of 2025. It mandates that organizations remove barriers on their digital environments to make access easier for people with disabilities.

AODA compliance applies to:

  • Websites and web applications
  • Digital documents and PDFs
  • Mobile apps and online tools

To meet AODA requirements, digital content must align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA— which is the global standard for web accessibility.

Who Needs to Comply?

AODA compliance applies to all organizations in Ontario, including:

  • Private businesses
  • Non-profits
  • Government bodies

However, the AODA requirements vary for private businesses and non-profits based on size:

  • Businesses with 20 or more employees must file an accessibility compliance report every three years
  • Businesses with fewer than 20 employees do not need to file this report

If your organization falls into one of these categories, you are legally required to ensure your digital content is accessible.
