Chris has been a volunteer firefighter since age seventeen. He started at the Laclu Volunteer Fire Hall and has since been with the Kenora Fire Department for over two years.

Being a volunteer firefighter involves training in diverse emergency situations, ranging from auto accidents and water rescues to house fires, ensuring readiness in critical moments.

Chris’s work also includes technical aspects of firefighting and developing an understanding of the impact of fire on individuals and communities.

We thank Chris for his commitment and dedication to the community.

Al Rivers

Chief Information Officer

As the Chief Information Officer at FSET, Al brings his humour and energy to his role, much like he does while coaching minor hockey.

Al has been coaching for about six years, volunteering on every team his son has played for. For the last two years, Al has been the assistant head coach for his son’s U11 and U13 teams in the Sackville Flyers Minor Hockey Association.

He shared his experience, saying “I love the feeling I get when teaching these kids a new play, a new move, or even being able to help them skate better or faster.”

We are grateful for Al’s contributions and the positive impact he has made within our company and in the broader community.

With the introduction of our 4-day work week, Ray has taken on a significant role in serving our country by enrolling as a private in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Ray recently completed his Basic Military Qualification (BMQ) and is now preparing for further training this summer to become fully qualified.

At FSET, we believe in giving back and supporting our employees’ volunteer efforts. Ray exemplifies our values and our commitment to community involvement.

We are proud to spotlight our CEO Nicole Brown.

With a commitment to social responsibility and community service, Nicole leads our team at FSET by example.

Nicole plays an active and influential role in the local community. She has served as the Public Appointee for the Northwestern Health Unit, as well as on the Board of Directors for the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.

Nicole is also the President and assistant coach of the Kenora Swimming Sharks and a member of the Executive Committee for the Borealis Multisport Club.
