When he first started FSET in 1999, Dave was the company’s sole staff member. Over the next two decades, he went on to build a team that could show, instead of merely tell about the true meaning of innovation. With more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement information technology, Dave spent more than a decade as a member of the Ontario Police Technology and Information Cooperative (OPTIC) Security Committee and was one of the founding members of its Mobility Committee. As a trusted industry leader, he has also worked closely to create and curate new IT policy and infrastructure at the national level, enhancing the provision of law enforcement for the entire country. Dave leads FSET to push boundaries and explore new possibilities to provide the best solutions for clients in both the public and private sectors.

Al Rivers

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

As CIO, Al ensures FSET stays ahead of the technological curve by developing and integrating new policies and procedures to keep the rest of the team at the top of their game. For Al, improvement is paramount, and whether it’s for the company or a client, he’ll happily lend his expertise to enhance the efficiency of others.

Al is an FSET veteran dating back to January 2006, when he joined the company as on of its first employees and began his deep, ongoing dive into the world of law enforcement information technology (LEIT).

Working closely with a local police force for over a decade, Al began lending his technical knowledge to support the creation of the patented Private Community Cloud for Law Enforcement (PCCLE) environment and FSET’s #MobilityFirst initiative. Both of which were developed based on a longstanding goal of bringing the office to the officer in the field and empowering law enforcement through technological innovation. With VMware Certified Professional 6, MSCA: Office 365, and several additional high-level credentials under his belt, Al continues to shape unique solutions and guide policy development to help police better serve their communities.

Born and raised in Kenora, Ontario, Al now lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia with his wife and son. By and large, Al enjoys being a tourist in his own province, and when he’s not sightseeing with binoculars, he also likes spending time on golf courses and coaching little league hockey.

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

As CTO, Travis leads the company’s research and development to maximize efficiency and productivity in both the short and long term. In his role, Travis also proudly serves as a company linchpin, routinely lending his insight and technical know-how to other team members to help solve problems and create effective solutions for customers.

Travis joined the team in 2011 as a part of the FSET’s Field Services department, working his way up the ranks over time by successfully completing increasingly complex deployments. Nowadays, Travis is dialed in on the latest technological advancements and disruptive services, allowing him to create cutting-edge solutions and fully support customers while they transition to working out of the cloud. In bringing digital environments to life, Travis does what needs to be done behind the scenes and makes the technology easy to use by ensuring everything is properly configured for customers right out of the gate.

Among his achievements is the role he played in patenting the Private Community Cloud for Law Enforcement (PCCLE) and FSET’s #MobilityFirst initiative, making previously unattainable record management processes a reality for countless police officers. With over 10 years of rigorous experience in virtualization and cloud-based computing, Travis is happy to provide comprehensive IT support not just for law enforcement, but practically any organization or business.

Born and raised in Kenora, Ontario, Travis recently packed his bags and moved with his partner and two children to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Above all else, Travis enjoys going on bowhunting trips, sometimes joined by his two Bullmastiffs.
